32-band parametric EQ, enhancement modules and a real-time visualiser for YouTube Music. A Chrome (MV3) extension by BlackBeltDesigns — Brian Mallett.

What it does

32-band parametric equaliser — 1/3-octave spacing, 20 Hz to 20 kHz. Frequency, gain, Q and filter type are editable per band. Drag the curve or use the 32 faders. 19 factory presets plus your own.

The bands don’t fight each other: a solver works out the filter gains whose combined response hits each band’s target, so a +6 dB tilt lands within ±0.11 dB of flat instead of rippling by 5 dB the way cascaded peaking filters normally do.

Four enhancement modules — bass shelf with a harmonic exciter; mid/side stereo width, mono bass and headphone crossfeed; compressor, brickwall limiter, night mode and loudness normalisation; presence, air, vocal focus and a dynamic de-esser.

Visualiser — spectrum bars, spectrogram, oscilloscope with a stereo phase scope, plus a full-screen mode that either overlays YouTube Music or replaces it entirely with a now-playing HUD.

Install

Not yet on the Chrome Web Store. To run it now:

  1. Download the latest *-unpacked.zip from Releases and unzip it somewhere permanent.
  2. chrome://extensions → enable Developer mode → Load unpacked → select the bbd-audio-manager folder.
  3. Open https://music.youtube.com and press Alt+E.

Privacy

No data is collected, stored remotely, or transmitted. The extension asks for one permission (storage, for your settings) and reaches exactly one site (music.youtube.com). Full policy: PRIVACY.md.
